About the project

We are looking for a Cobol on Mainframe Developer to join our Information Business Systems Team and work with IBA strategic clients.
As the Mainframe Developer, you will be contributing to the success of our customer projects, maintaining existing mainframe software, and implementing new functionalities and system enhancements throughout the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to post-implementation support.

Your responsibilities

  • Creating technical specifications for new and modified programs and interfaces to existing products
  • Developing code that conforms to the prototype and specifications, is maintainable and portable
  • Troubleshooting production issues and creating source code changes to provide solutions
  • Guiding other developers, support, or quality assurance in understanding the product architecture, new features, and identifying problem-solving strategies
  • Planning implementation of new products and extensions

Our requirements

  • Experience as a Mainframe software developer
  • Broad knowledge of z/OS programming
  • Cobol programming skills
  • Communicative English level
  • Legal work permit in EU

    Optional

  • Good understanding of z/OS operating system - JCL, ISPF, TSO/E, SDSF, JES, REXX
  • Practical experience in the development and maintenance of complex, production-ready and high-performance applications
  • Solid knowledge of relational databases and cross-platform development
  • Working experience with IDEs (Eclipse, Visual Studio, IntelliJ, etc.) and distributed source code management systems (Git, GitHub, SVN, etc.)
  • C or ASM programming skills will be an asset
  • German will be a plus
