  • Experience in Android Studio.
  • Practical knowledge of design & UX patterns.
  • Experience in workflow tools (Jira).
  • Experience in Continuous Integration.
  • Knowledge of asynchronous server communication (REST API).
  • Interest in modern Android frameworks like Android Jetpack and knowledge of reactive programming principles (RxJava).
  • Good English skills for daily communication.
  • Enthusiasm, curiosity and creativity.

Your responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and continuously improve Android applications used by customers across Lufthansa Group.
  • Design and implement new features, ensuring high code quality, performance, stability and a great user experience.
  • Analyze existing solutions and proactively recommend technical improvements, new approaches and suitable technologies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve code quality, application performance, maintainability and development processes.
  • Collaborate closely with other developers, testers and product stakeholders to deliver valuable solutions.
  • Take ownership of assigned tasks, from understanding requirements and proposing solutions to implementation, testing and maintenance.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying problems, suggesting improvements and helping implement them.

About the project

We are looking for a Standard or Senior Android Developer for Lufthansa’s Digital Hangar Department.
The focus of Digital Hangar (DH) is the improvement of passenger experience throughout the whole journey. The projects that are in focus are Lufthansa Group (Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian and Brussels) main web portals, mobile apps (iOS and Android) and B2B platforms. On top we’re developing our own R&D solutions within Hangar initiatives.
