Our requirements

  • Proven experience with data persistence and processing of large data volumes; project descriptions that demonstrate this experience are required.
  • Demonstrable experience in migrating from Tableau to Power BI; include project examples.
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience with relational databases and SQL; provide project evidence.
  • Extensive development experience with both Tableau and Power BI; project descriptions are required to verify capabilities.
  • German language proficiency at CEFR level C1 or C2.
  • Additional desirable experience (where available and demonstrated through project descriptions): Microsoft Fabric, advanced Power BI capabilities (Dataflows, Datasets, Power Query, dashboards), statistical analysis, training/enablement in a Power BI context, and domain knowledge of railway operations or rail infrastructure data.

Your responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive migration concept and roadmap for transitioning from Tableau to Power BI.
  • Design the Power BI architecture, including data sources, data models, dataflows/datasets, and dashboard structures to support operational performance analysis.
  • Collect, analyse and translate business requirements into analytical solutions and resilient data models.
  • Develop and enhance data visualisations and dashboards that provide actionable operational insights.
  • Execute the migration using Power BI, SQL, Python and Tableau while ensuring data integrity and continuity of reporting.
  • Analyse and process large‑scale datasets within complex, relational database environments to support reporting and analytics.
  • Present analysis findings and implemented solutions to stakeholders at various levels, including operational teams and executive management.
  • Provide training and enablement to internal teams to maintain and extend Power BI solutions.
  • Ensure stability, performance and reliability of reporting solutions, implementing best practices for governance and optimisation.
  • Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to drive continuous improvement of analytics capabilities and processes.

About the project

We are seeking a German‑speaking BI Architect / Transformation Consultant (Tableau-to-Power BI Migration) to lead the design and delivery of a scalable analytics architecture and modern reporting solutions. The person in this role will focus on migrating existing Tableau assets to Power BI, translating business requirements into robust data models and visualizations, and enabling stakeholders across the organisation to make data-driven decisions. The role requires hands‑on technical expertise, experience with large‑scale data environments, and strong stakeholder engagement skills.
