Our requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or a comparable qualification focusing on System Integration or Software Development
• Several years of professional experience in operational IT management using DevOps principles, alongside strong knowledge of IT security and developing high levels of automation
• Deep understanding of networks (including switch and firewall configuration), IT infrastructures, and Linux operating systems, as well as hands-on experience with industry-standard tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, GitLab, and HashiCorp Vault
• Strong familiarity with a Linux and open-source driven IT infrastructure, with full proficiency in managing Linux-based client and server systems
• Ideally holding industry-standard certifications such as "Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation" or other relevant Linux or DevOps credentials
• Fluent communication skills in both German and English (written and spoken)

Your responsibilities

• Serving as a member of the thyssenkrupp CERT, supporting its group-wide mission to identify and investigate IT security incidents
• Operating and continuously developing the Cyber Defense Center's core IT infrastructure and applications to meet internal and external requirements
• Maintaining a Kubernetes-based hyperconverged infrastructure hosting a wide range of containerized applications, from microservices to app clusters
• Keeping existing systems up to date and managing them using Ansible playbooks, which you independently develop for new systems and applications
• Configuring systems according to "Security and Privacy by Design" principles while developing automations and integrations aligned with "Don't Repeat Yourself" (DRY) and "Keep It Simple, Stupid" (KISS) methodologies
• Integrating diverse software components within a homogeneous system environment predominantly built on Linux and open-source tools, while meeting the needs of a heterogeneous, group-wide IT landscape
• Conducting advanced research and analysis regarding alternative solutions, integration options, and feature sets of IT solutions, factoring in both technical and non-technical requirements
• Administering and maintaining servers and networks within the Cyber Defense Center labs and the data center in Frankfurt, including physical infrastructure tasks (such as cabling) as needed
• Proactively tracking relevant emerging technologies and continuously upgrading your knowledge to align with technological advancements
