Our requirements

  • Strong skills in Python and SQL
  • Experience with PySpark or comparable Spark-based processing frameworks
  • Experience building and operating ETL/ELT pipelines
  • Experience building a data platform from scratch, not exclusively operating an existing environment
  • Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms, ideally Microsoft Fabric or Azure Data Services
  • Working knowledge of lakehouse, warehouse and data modelling approaches
  • Experience with Power BI semantic models or comparable reporting-oriented data models
  • Experience with API integration, for example REST, authentication, pagination, error handling and logging
  • Confident use of Git and structured software development
  • Solid understanding of data quality, data validation and monitoring
  • Basic knowledge of security and governance topics such as roles, permissions, secrets and Entra ID
  • A natural but critical approach to modern AI tools in day-to-day development work. You use them productively and review their output rather than accepting it unchecked
  • The willingness to take long-term ownership of the platform
  • An independent, structured way of working and genuine enjoyment in getting into new topics.
  • Business-fluent German, at least C1. You clarify technical requirements directly with colleagues from sales, purchasing and production.
  • Good English, at least B2, for internal collaboration within Digital Excellence, for working with our European subsidiaries and for documentation, vendor contact and technical research.

Optional

  • Experience with ERP data structures, ideally Infor M3, SAP or comparable systems
  • Experience with event streaming, for example Azure Event Hubs, Kafka or Fabric Eventstreams
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Purview, lineage, data catalog or data governance
  • Basic knowledge of Docker, Linux or container-based development environments

Your responsibilities

  • Build, operate and continuously develop our data platform on Microsoft Fabric and Azure
  • Develop data pipelines using Python, SQL, Fabric Pipelines, Dataflows Gen2 and Notebooks / PySpark
  • Design lakehouse and warehouse structures based on established architecture patterns such as Bronze/Silver/Gold
  • Model curated data products for reporting, analytics and Power BI semantic models
  • Implement and monitor data quality rules as part of our TrueData initiative
  • Connect source systems such as ERP, CRM, DMS, PIM, production systems and Microsoft 365
  • Implement API-based integrations via REST, OAuth2/OIDC, webhooks or Microsoft Graph
  • Build robust integration logic including logging, error handling, retry mechanisms and monitoring

About the project

RIDI Leuchten GmbH is a leading manufacturer of high-quality luminaires and lighting solutions for commercial and industrial applications. With more than 70 years of experience and a broad product portfolio, we deliver innovative lighting solutions that meet the highest standards of quality, efficiency and design. RIDI Polska, a subsidiary of RIDI Leuchten GmbH, represents the company in the Polish market and provides local customers and partners with expert support and tailored lighting solutions.
Our central data platform does not exist yet. You will build it. This is not a role where you take over a grown environment and maintain it, but one where you start on a greenfield: architecture, pipelines, integrations, data quality. From the first decision to running operations.
What you build will be used. Reporting, analytics, automation and future AI use cases all rest on this platform. Your decisions on architecture, data models and data quality will shape how RIDI works with data in the years ahead.
The position deliberately sits at the interface between Digital Excellence and IT. You will work very closely with our IT colleagues, in particular on infrastructure, permissions, operations and the integration of our core systems. At RIDI, the data platform and IT operations are not separate worlds but two sides of the same task.
We are not looking for a pure BI developer or a pure low-code automation specialist, but for someone who confidently combines data platform, integration and hands-on delivery.

What we offer

  • The chance to build a data platform from the very first line instead of administering someone else's decisions
  • A company in the middle of its digital transformation, where your work becomes visible immediately
  • An environment where modern AI tools are actively used and new technologies are tried out
  • A motivated team with flat hierarchies and short decision paths
  • The position can be filled in Germany (Jungingen, Hamburg, Berlin) or in Poland (Łódź), hybrid or remote with periodic presence on site
  • Additional benefits at our German locations:
  • 39-hour week, flexitime and flexible working time models
  • Christmas and holiday bonus
  • Subsidised company pension scheme and company bike leasing
  • Regular employee events
  • For positions based in Poland, market-standard benefits apply and are agreed individually depending on the contract model.
