Data Engineer with AI Focus

Our requirements

• 2+ years of commercial experience as a Data Engineer, with strong hands-on Databricks and Python skills.
• Solid familiarity with the Databricks ecosystem - Unity Catalog, notebooks, pipelines, and data governance patterns.
• Active interest and early hands-on experience in GenAI or agentic development - LangChain, LangGraph, prompt engineering, or LLM integrations.
• Experience integrating with APIs - metadata APIs, data catalog APIs, or similar.
• Self-directed and proactive - comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving work without constant guidance.
• Ability to collaborate across disciplines and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Fluent English, able to collaborate effectively across international teams.

Optional

• Exposure to Genie or similar AI-assisted data interfaces within Databricks.
• Familiarity with data publication workflows or data catalog platforms (CDL or equivalent).
• Knowledge of data governance concepts and metadata management.
• Experience working in large enterprise data ecosystems.
• Any completed GenAI projects - even personal or experimental ones count.

Your responsibilities

• Building and maintaining data pipelines and workflows within the Databricks ecosystem, including Unity Catalog and Genie.
• Integrating with data catalog and metadata APIs (Unity Catalog, DDAPI, and similar) to support autonomous data workflows.
• Contributing to the development of GenAI agent skills - structured, reusable components that enable autonomous agents to execute complex processes reliably.
• Working with LangChain and/or LangGraph to support agentic pipeline development alongside the AI-focused members of the team.
• Collaborating across technical and non-technical disciplines - translating data and process logic into specifications that both engineers and stakeholders can work from.
• Operating with autonomy - identifying gaps, driving your workstream forward, and flagging blockers proactively.
• Leveraging AI tools in day-to-day work to continuously improve productivity and output quality.
