Expert DevOps Engineer

Our requirements

• 8+ years of cloud or software engineering experience, with a strongtrack record of ownership and problem-solving.
• 4+ years of hands-on Terraform/Infrastructure-as-Code experience.
• 3+ years of Python or equivalent scripting experience for automation and tooling.
• Solid experience with production support, including incident response and root-cause analysis.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipeline design and management.
• Working knowledge of cloud identity/access management (Service Principals, RBAC, OIDC/SSO) across AWS and/or Azure.
• Familiarity with at least one modern cloud data platform (e.g., Snowflake or Databricks) — deep platform-specific expertise not required, but comfort working with data platform concepts and integrations is expected.
• Comfortable using AI-assisted coding tools and automation-first approaches to problem-solving

Optional

• Multi-cloud experience (AWS and Azure).
• Sound judgment diagnosing config, process, or platform-level issues.
• Experience with orchestration tools (Dagster, Airflow, or similar).
• Familiarity with postmortems, pre-mortems, and checklist-driven practices.
• Proactive, collaborative mindset — flags risks early.
• Balances deep technical work with process improvements benefiting the team

Your responsibilities

• Design and maintain reusable Terraform modules and patterns across AWS/Azure, data platforms, and orchestration tools (e.g., Dagster across VM/Fargate/ACA).
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or equivalent) for automated provisioning, validation, and deprovisioning.
• Champion policy-as-code practices (e.g., OPA/Sentinel) to reduce manual verification steps and catch configuration issues earlier in the pipeline.
• Contribute to environment drift-detection practices to surface configuration inconsistencies across environments proactively.
• Leverage AI-assisted coding and automation tools to improve
• development speed, code quality, and troubleshooting efficiency.
• Support and improve RBAC and Service Principal governance, including clear practices for separating human-assumable roles from service account permissions.
• Design and troubleshoot private connectivity configurations (private endpoints, network whitelisting) with an eye toward consistency across environments.
• Take ownership of root-cause diagnosis for complex, cross-platform issues (e.g., authentication scope mismatches, provider/API limitations).
• Actively participate in and help facilitate postmortems and pre-mortem risk discussions, helping the team turn lessons learned into practical improvements — whether that's automation, documentation, or process changes.
• Bring a continuous-improvement mindset to recurring pain points, helping refine processes, templates, and documentation based on real project experience
• Mentor engineers on Terraform, CI/CD, and cross-platform troubleshooting, helping build broader knowledge across the team.
• Share expertise generously to reduce reliance on any single person for critical platform or pipeline knowledge.
• Serve as a trusted technical resource across cloud, data platform, and orchestration domains
