Employer requirements

  • Experience as Director / Head of Engineering / Senior Engineering Manager
  • Strong technical background in distributed systems and modern architectures
  • Experience working with microservices and event-driven systems (Kafka, NATS, etc.)
  • Hands-on knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/GCP) and containerisation (Kubernetes)
  • Experience in high-scale environments (e.g. fintech, betting, streaming, data-heavy platforms)
  • Ability to combine technical depth with strong delivery ownership
  • Experience in scaling teams and building engineering structures
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Willingness to travel internationally and ability to work from Katowice on a hybrid basis
  • Nice to have:
  • Previous experience with Go, Node.js, or similar technologies
  • Background in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering
  • Experience in multi-country or post-merger environments

Your responsibilities

  • Lead delivery excellence and improve and predictability of software releases
  • Build and structure engineering teams (around 60 FTE in Poland)
  • Establish scalable engineering processes, standards, and best practices
  • Work closely with Product and business stakeholders on prioritisation
  • Support and influence architectural decisions in a microservices environment
  • Collaborate with regional technology teams (CEE markets)
  • Identify and address key technical and organisational bottlenecks
  • Drive team maturity, ownership, and accountability
  • Manage hiring, team structure evolution, and resource allocation
