Our requirements

  • 4+ years of professional Java development experience.
  • Hands-on experience with microservices and distributed systems.
  • Experience with REST APIs and event-driven architecture (e.g. Kafka).
  • Practical experience with containers, Kubernetes and CI/CD.
  • Understanding software architecture, clean code and engineering best practices.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code or similar.
  • Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
  • Professional working proficiency in English (B2/C1).
  • Availability to work in a hybrid model – 2 days per week in our Gdańsk office.

Your responsibilities

  • Design, build and operate Java-based backend services used across Lufthansa Group.
  • Develop cloud-native microservices, REST APIs and event-driven integrations.
  • Take ownership of the full software lifecycle – from solution design and implementation to deployment, monitoring and continuous improvement.
  • Work with Kubernetes, CI/CD, distributed messaging and modern DevOps practices.
  • Use AI-assisted engineering tools and help us explore new approaches to software development.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other roles in cross-functional product teams.
