Java Backend Developer (Microservices)

Your responsibilities

• Develop and enhance the microservices architecture of the Home Connect IoTplatform
• Collaborate with an international, cross-functional team to deliver real value tocustomers
• Design and implement solutions using Java and Kotlin (versions 21/17)
• Participate in the full development lifecycle, from requirements gathering toarchitecture design, implementation, and deployment
• Process and analyze data streams using Apache Flink and Kafka Streams
• Work with device certificates, including certificate orchestration for IoT devices

Our requirements

• At least 3 years of professional experience in software development, with a proactive and open-minded approach to new challenges
• Strong hands-on knowledge of microservices architecture and related technologies: Java, Kotlin and Spring Boot
• At least 1 year of professional experience with Apache Kafka
• Understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture fundamentals, and authentication methods
• Experience working with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases(MongoDB)
• Familiarity with Jenkins and CI/CD best practices
• Knowledge of clean code principles and design patterns
• Proactive mindset with a willingness to take initiative and propose improvements
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skill

Optional

• Knowledge of digital certificates/PKI
• Experience with AWS or other cloud providers (Terraform is a plus)
• Basic understanding of stream processing tools such as Apache Flink and KafkaStreams
• Experience with Cloud Foundry
• Basic understanding of JWT concepts
