About the project

About our Team
Samsung R&D Institute Poland is looking for Java Backend Developer, for the team working on Samsung Wallet solutions. The project team covers full product scope – from payment solution and Digital Identity, to the value added services (tickets, membership cards etc.). If you would like to work on innovative solutions from ideation, through proof of concept, to the commercialization phase, come and join us.
We are dedicated to innovate our everyday life and support digital transformation. We develop solutions, which can improve and simplify our life, but also increase its security. Mobile Payments are already revolutionizing the market. Digital ID is going to change the way we interact between our offline and online life. Therefore our Samsung Wallet team is growing and looking for new members.
We’re looking for a Software Engineer passionate not only about software development but also about innovative solutions, which can change our everyday life. If you want to search for new solutions and have motivation to learn and develop, we also strongly encourage you to apply. Your responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining new and existing services and apps
  • Support commercialization phase of Wallet App for EU region
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of software engineering best practices
  • Supporting full software development lifecycle of solution backend
  • Participate in international meetings
  • Research about innovative Digital Identity / authentication solutions
  • Development of backend for PoC and commercial Digital ID solutions
  • Implement and maintain security and data protection measures

Our requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience as a Java Backend Developer
  • Very good knowledge of Spring Framework, REST API, SQL
  • Knowledge of NoSQL, Messaging and Caching Systems
  • Knowledge of authn/z protocols and frameworks
  • Knowledge of the Linux environment
  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in: preferably computer science, telecommunication, other STEM field
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to write clean and high quality code
  • Good English and Polish - communication level

  • Kotlin in backend
  • Experience in Cloud and DevOps technologies
  • Experience with mobile payments
  • Knowledge of frontend technologies
  • Knowledge of other backend technologies based on Python, Node.js
  • Knowledge of mobile security and cryptography topics
  • Familiar with data protection best practices
  • Familiarity with various Digital ID related specifications and technologies (e.g.: OID4VC, ISO mDL, FIDO)
  • Familiarity with decentralized technologies
