Your responsibilities
1) Be an AI power user
Generate test scenarios and edge cases from acceptance criteria using Claude Code
Draft and extend Playwright/TypeScript tests AI-first, then review and harden them
Triage flaky tests and turn Sentry/log noise into clean, reproducible reports
Build your own AI-assisted testing playbook and share what works with the squad
2) Apply judgment on top of AI-generated coverage
AI generates the first pass of test scenarios and edge cases — your job is deciding what it missed. Perform functional, exploratory, UX, and integration testing that goes beyond what a model would think to check: the flows that break for reasons no acceptance criteria captured, the edge cases that only show up when you actually use the product like a client would. This is where AI-generated coverage ends and your product sense takes over.
3) Champion a proactive client approach to monitoring
Intercept issues before they impact users by contributing to automated regression and platform monitoring. Participate in regular sessions testing real production flows and translate findings into actionable insights for client-facing teams.
4) Support quality ownership across the team (Shift Left)
Support developers in strengthening first-line testing practices, sharing feedback and best practices. Review developer test evidence at code review when needed, and step in for complex, cross-system, or client-impacting work.
5) Proactive engagement
Join feature scoping with Product and help draft the test plan before code is written — using AI to scaffold the plan, then refining it with your own read on risk. Support the definition of clear acceptance criteria and validation steps so quality is built in, not inspected afterward. Support and help structure user acceptance testing for the features you've scoped
