About the project
Enterprise Technology brings together all areas of financial crime risk management at HSBC including anti- money laundering, transaction monitoring, screening, risk assessment etc. and is dedicated to implement the most effective global standards to combat financial crime. The Global Social Network Analytics (GSNA) platform uses Big Data technology together with AI and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to identify potential financial crime risks that enable a global network of Investigators, Intelligence Analysts and Data Scientists to conduct effective intelligence-based investigations.
We are a team of over 150 people closely following Agile Scrum framework with Scrum teams based in Poland, China, and the UK. We run 2-week sprints with 6-week release cycles. We have a great work atmosphere and celebrate our successes and failures. Our open and collaborative work culture means we enjoy going out together every month to bond and celebrate our team efforts.
As a Scala Spark Engineer you’ll be working in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) creating pipelines though Spark Shell analysing data in one of the biggest Datalakes in the world and using AirFlow to validate tests that you write. We work to promote the agile culture in a strongly regulated industry, so it’s expected from you to challenge the way things are done whilst following the current rules accurately.
The GSNA project is the next generation of tooling for combatting financial crime. Covering investment banking, commercial banking and retail banking globally. The architecture comprises Hadoop, elastic search microservices, relational databases.
