Senior Functional Analyst - Technology

Our requirements

• 5- 10 years’ experience in a functional analysis role, with demonstrated progression into leadership or senior advisory positions
• Proven track record of delivering successful software implementation projects within financial services or fund administration environments
• Demonstrated ability to manage and influence stakeholders at all levels, from operational teams to senior management and board-level directors
• Strong project management skills with hands-on experience owning delivery timelines, budgets, and resource planning
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to distil complex requirements into clear, actionable specifications
• Experience providing application support (Level 2/3) and managing automation, system integration, or platform migration projects
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create compelling presentations and executive-level reports
• Comfortable thriving in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment with tenacity, resilience, and a solutions-oriented mindset
• Ability to deliver effective, persuasive presentations on complex topics to senior and cross-functional audiences

Optional

• Experience in Fund Accounting, Transfer Agency, or ManCo operations within an asset-servicing or fund-administration context
• Professional project management qualification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent)
• Hands-on experience with Paxus or similar fund administration platforms
• Familiarity with collaboration and workflow tools such as Jira, Confluence, or equivalent platforms
• Exposure to SQL, data analysis tools, or development languages (C#, Python) sufficient to engage in technical conversations and review outputs
• Understanding of cloud platforms, DevOps tooling, or infrastructure-as-code concepts and their application in regulated environments
• Prior consulting experience (e.g., Big 4, boutique advisory, or technology consultancy) with exposure to financial services transformation programmes

Your responsibilities

• Software Implementation (ManCo – Luxembourg)
• Lead end-to-end functional analysis for the implementation of PMPlus software supporting ManCo activities in Luxembourg, translating business requirements into detailed solution designs
• Author and maintain comprehensive documentation, including functional specifications, process flows, and system configuration guides, while reviewing team outputs for quality and consistency
• Design and deliver training materials, user guides, and knowledge-transfer sessions to drive end-user adoption and self-sufficiency
• Coordinate UAT testing end-to-end, encompassing test strategy definition, script development, scenario design, Issue Log tracking, and go/no-go recommendations to stakeholders
• Plan and execute data migration activities, coordinating closely with technical teams and business owners to ensure data integrity and minimal operational disruption
• Define and implement the post-go-live Support operating model, including SLAs, escalation paths, and continuous-improvement processes
• Assume full application ownership, acting as the escalation point for production issues and driving resolution within agreed service levels
• Supporting Various Hedge & ManCo Applications
• Maintain project hygiene through rigorous Jira governance, Project Tracker updates, and regular status reporting to stakeholders
• Conduct requirements gathering and produce specifications that ensure alignment with business priorities and strategic roadmaps
• Provide Level 2 application support for Hedge Fund platforms (Paxus, 3Cats, and others), triaging issues and coordinating fixes with development teams
• Leadership & Stakeholder Management
• Mentor and guide analysts and developers, setting expectations around priorities, quality standards, and professional development
• Serve as the primary point of contact between Technology and Business stakeholders, ensuring transparent communication and expectation management
• Drive decision-making by synthesising options, trade-offs, and recommendations for senior management, ensuring timely resolution of blockers
• Own the project management of Functional Analysis workstreams, including planning, scheduling, risk identification and mitigation, and delivery reporting against milestones
• Technical Background & Development Lifecycle
• Critically assess technical designs and challenge proposed solutions to ensure alignment with business objectives, scalability requirements, and long-term maintainability
• Demonstrate a solid grasp of modern development practices, including Agile/Scrum methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and release management processes
• Apply understanding of system architecture concepts (APIs, integrations, databases, and data flows) to engage meaningfully with developers and architects during design and review sessions
• Write and review technical documentation such as functional specifications, data mapping documents, and integration design documents to a high standard of clarity and completeness
• Participate actively in technical discussions, sprint ceremonies, backlog refinement, and code-review walkthroughs, bridging business context with engineering execution
• Leverage awareness of testing methodologies (unit, integration, regression, UAT) to define test strategies that ensure quality at each stage of delivery
