5+ years of experience in IBMi (AS400) application development and maintenance Strong experience with RPG IV / RPGLE, COBOL, CL and DB2 Experience with modern development practices, source control, and testing and deployment process Experience designing and supporting high-available and critical systems on IBMi (AS-400) Experience working within banking, payments, financial services or other mission-critical enterprise environments Excellent written and spoken English communication skills, and familiar with international collaboration Experience of using Jira, Confluence Experience in working in IT industryIt would be ideal if you also have:
Experience developing or integrating REST APIs, JSON interfaces, messaging solutions or other enterprise integrations Knowledge of the banking sector and payment domain, or at least the financial sector (sure an advantage but not required) Strong SQL and DB2 knowledge, including query optimisation and database design Experience or knowledge of APIs, Data Mapping, Data Migration and Process ModellingYour responsibilities
Developing, maintaining and enhancing business-critical applications running on the IBM i (AS400) platform
Designing and implementing solutions using RPG, COBOL, CL and DB2 technologies
Collaborating with business analysts, architects, testers and application specialists to deliver sustainable solutions
Participating in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, development, testing and implementation
Driving application modernisation, technical debt reduction and continuous improvement initiatives
Providing L2/L3 support and assisting in incident and problem resolution for critical production systems
Contributing to integration initiatives involving APIs, messaging and surrounding banking systems
The role is based in Gdansk, Poland, with hybrid model of working. This is a permanent full-time role, and preferred starting time is between February and April 2026. Please indicate your local work permit in the CV.
