About the project

The job at a glance
Join our team and you’ll be a key technical contributor within our Data Platform team, designing, building and maintaining scalable, reliable and well-governed data platform capabilities that power analytics, AI and data-driven products used across multiple Stepstone markets and business domains.
Working in the Data Platform department, you will collaborate closely with Staff and Principal Engineers, Engineering Managers and Product Managers. Our customers are internal engineering, analytics and product teams across Stepstone, and your work will enable them to build, deploy and operate data-driven solutions at scale.
This is a software engineering role first and foremost. While our platform is built using technologies such as Python, Java and Scala, we are looking for engineers who specialize in at least one of them and are comfortable learning and contributing across the stack when needed. We value a software engineering mindset over attachment to a specific language.
You will take ownership of significant platform components, drive technical quality within your squad and help grow the engineering capability of those around you.
This is a hands-on role. You will spend most of your time writing code, designing systems, reviewing peers’ work and solving complex engineering challenges.
This is so important to us. By joining our team, you will be playing a vital role as together we reimagine the labour market to make it work for everybody.
