- Strong experience managing on‑premises Kubernetes clusters at scale
- Deep proficiency in Linux systems
- Hands-on experience with Proxmox and/or VMware
- Proficiency in virtualization and containerization (e.g. QEMU, KVM, LXC, Docker)
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet/Ansible/Chef
- Familiarity with observability tools like Prometheus and Grafana
- Proficiency with CI/CD tooling (e.g. ArgoCD, Argo Rollouts, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
- Familiarity with secrets management processes and tooling, such as HashiCorp Vault
- Background in distributed systems
- Experience with networking and routing is desirable

Your responsibilities
- Drive infrastructure automation for configuration management of 2,000+ VMs, dozens of Kubernetes clusters, and 600+ on‑premises servers, ensuring consistency across 120+ distributed Equinix datacenters
- Collaborate with global teams (AMER, EMEA, and APAC) on security, networking, and platform standards
- Implement GitOps practices for deployments, drift management, and developer portal
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal customers and product stakeholders to design effective and scalable solutions
- Work with technical project managers and product management teams to define and plan multiple projects
- Participate in on‑call shifts with clear processes and support
About the project
We are looking for a Senior Staff Platform Engineer to join our highly skilled and globally distributed Platform Infrastructure Engineering team, designing solutions for monitoring, troubleshooting, and obtaining telemetry from our Equinix worldwide network.
The ideal candidate will have experience in designing and developing robust architectures that handle large-scale data, establishing standards and guidance for engineering teams, and ensuring the quality of the platform. We are looking for someone with a passion for delivering efficient, automated, and high‑performing systems globally at scale, while following agile methodologies.
Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
