Software Engineer 1 (Java/Kotlin) - Allegro Ads

Our requirements

• Have solid foundational backend skills in Kotlin or Java and a strong, growth-oriented mindset - we value your willingness to learn over knowing everything from day one;
• Are excited about experimenting with AI and open to trying out new tools and technologies in their daily work;
• Want to build new products and have a real impact on a developing, innovative project with minimal maintenance tasks;
• Are eager to collaborate with Data Science teams to turn complex algorithms into seamless user experiences;
• Are open to understanding the broader architecture and potentially developing towards full-stack or big data engineering in the future;

• Know English at at least B2 level.

Your responsibilities

• Modern Tech Stack: Work with a world-class, cloud-native environment. Our core technologies include Kotlin, Spring, Kafka, and Kubernetes. We're not shy when it comes to ML too.
• True Ownership & Autonomy: We live by a "you build it, you run it" philosophy. You'll join an agile, autonomous team with full ownership of your microservices, from design to deployment.
• Complex Challenges: From distributed systems and data streaming to algorithmic optimization, you'll tackle the complex backend problems that power a massive, real-time marketplace.
• Innovative Ads Solutions: You will implement smart advertising recommendations within the Ads Panel to simplify campaign management.
• Greenfield Vibe in a Mature Product: Enjoy the best of both worlds. While the Ads Panel is a mature, highly profitable product, this team operates with a greenfield approach. You will focus on building new features and innovations.
