Our requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience working as a Quality Assurance specialist in a team environment, including hands-on automated UI testing experience
  • Proven capabilities in the following technologies:
  • Cypress— required for this role. Equivalent experience in Playwright, Selenium or comparable frameworks is welcome and transferable, but the successful candidate must be able to author and maintain Cypress suites from day one.
  • Working familiarity with GraphQL and/or REST APIs for the purposes of API-level test authoring
  • Regular usage of Azure DevOps (boards, pipelines) and GitHub
  • Demonstrable, current experience using AI tooling (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Claude) to accelerate test authoring, exploratory test ideation, defect triage and documentation. AI fluency is treated as a core competency for this role, not an optional accelerator.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with different levels of stakeholders from different parts of the world
  • Self-starter, organized and able to operate with minimal supervision
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent combination of education, training and work experience)
  • Familiarity with test-driven development (TDD) and behaviour-driven development (BDD) approaches
  • Working development capability in C# and/or TypeScript sufficient to contribute lightweight feature implementations under direction — particularly via a test-driven workflow that uses AI tooling to bridge from a written test to a candidate implementation. Candidates who can credibly flex between QA and lightweight development work in this way are of particular interest for this role; the QA mandate remains primary.
  • Experience with Playwright, particularly in the context of AI-assisted test generation and execution
  • Experience standing up QA practice on a new product or stream (tooling selection, framework setup, CI integration)
  • Experience supporting modernization or legacy-to-web migration efforts

Optional

  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and tools to support testing of these standards
  • DevOps and CI/CD best practices and related technologies (Azure DevOps pipelines, GitHub Actions)
  • Familiarity with Azure cloud technology and services
  • API and GraphQL test automation at depth

Your responsibilities

  • Analyze functional business and system requirements to develop test scenarios and test conditions (interface, API and back-end systems and applications)
  • Develop and execute manual and automated testing plans for software applications to successfully and consistently enable delivery of high-quality standards
  • Author and maintain automated UI tests in Cypress, building on our existing automation repository and patterns
  • Establish and contribute to QA process, tooling and coverage strategy on a new web product, integrating that practice into the team’s daily workflow
  • Partner directly with a small, senior, AI-leveraged development team and keep pace with their commit and release cadence
  • Assist with creating documentation such as test plan management, use cases and test scenarios; evaluate, test and troubleshoot software repeatedly in order to detect errors and bugs and recommend bug fixes
  • Work with Agile teams of developers, analysts, QA staff and business stakeholders to plan and execute automated tests
  • Identify opportunities to apply existing automation, AI-assisted test generation or other tools to meet testing needs
  • Apply AI tooling (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Claude) to accelerate test authoring, exploratory test ideation, defect triage and documentation — with sound judgment about where AI output requires human verification
  • Research and remain abreast of quality standards and best practices relevant to current and future initiatives and development work, including emerging practices in AI-driven test automation
  • Report software problems (bugs, defects) in clear written form with reproducible steps, but also overall areas of risk and complexity, with suggested mitigation plans
