• Extensive commercial experience in software development with Python.
• Strong track record of building complex, reliable and scalable systems.
• Solid understanding of system design, architecture and software engineering principles.
• Proven ability to make and communicate technical and architectural decisions.
• Experience working with complex, established codebases.
• Ability to take ownership of technically challenging initiatives and drive them to completion.
• Strong problem-solving skills and sound engineering judgment.
• Experience providing technical leadership or mentoring to other engineers.
• Ability to work effectively with experienced engineers and technical stakeholders.
• High level of autonomy and a pragmatic approach to engineering decisions.

Optional

• Experience with Go.
• Knowledge of networking, distributed systems or network infrastructure.
• Experience with cybersecurity or security-focused products.
• Background in IT infrastructure, aviation or other technically demanding domains.
• Experience shaping engineering practices or technical standards.
• Practical experience using AI tools as part of the software development workflow.

Your responsibilities

• Designing and developing reliable, scalable systems.
• Taking ownership of architecture and key technical decisions.
• Staying hands-on with Python development and contributing to the codebase.
• Designing solutions for complex technical and system-level challenges.
• Driving technical initiatives from design through implementation.
• Working with and evolving an established codebase.
• Identifying opportunities to improve system architecture, performance, reliability and maintainability.
• Establishing and promoting strong engineering practices and standards.
• Providing technical leadership and mentoring to other engineers.
• Collaborating with engineering and QA teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Contributing to the technical growth and direction of the engineering team.
• Using modern development practices, including AI-assisted engineering tools, with a strong focus on code quality and engineering judgment.
