Our requirements

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Experience with containerized and serverless workloads, particularly Google Cloud Run or comparable Azure services.
  • Experience operating and maintaining MongoDB, including configuration, monitoring, backup/restore, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Quarkus-based applications or comparable Java microservice frameworks.
  • Good understanding of Docker/OCI containers.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform.
  • Ability to work autonomously, make sound technical decisions, and drive topics independently from analysis to implementation.
  • AI tools and AI-assisted engineering
  • Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, or comparable solutions.
  • Ability to use AI tools effectively for coding, scripting, troubleshooting, log analysis, documentation, testing, and automation.
  • Ability to create effective prompts and provide the appropriate technical context to AI tools.
  • Ability to critically review and validate AI-generated code and recommendations rather than relying on generated output without verification.
  • Understanding of security, confidentiality, and data-protection considerations when using AI tools in an enterprise environment.
  • Interest in identifying opportunities to use AI to increase engineering productivity and automate repetitive DevOps activities.

Your responsibilities

  • Deploy, operate, monitor, and continuously improve cloud-based applications and services.
  • Take ownership of operational topics, including troubleshooting, incident analysis, root-cause identification, and implementation of long-term improvements.
  • Support the end-to-end application lifecycle, including requirements analysis, solution design, software development, testing, deployment, integration, security, compliance, and production support.
  • Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements and design reliable, secure, and scalable technical solutions.
  • Improve automation, observability, deployment processes, and operational tooling to increase service reliability and engineering efficiency.
We are looking for a proactive and hands-on DevOps Engineer with strong cloud and application operations experience to support the deployment, operation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of our services. In this role, you will work across software development and cloud operations, taking ownership of technical topics from analysis through implementation and production support.
Because of the DevOps nature of the team, each team member is involved in the complete software lifecycle — from requirements analysis and development to release, monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement in production. The role also includes supporting a 24/7 operational model for selected business-critical applications.
You will join a Scrum-based, cross-functional team responsible for the development, operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of three applications within Deutsche Telekom IoT GmbH. Two of the applications focus on increasing digitalization and automation of internal business processes, supporting stakeholders across Sales, Presales, Service, and Operations. The third application enables Deutsche Telekom to fulfill Know Your Customer (KYC) regulatory requirements in its role as an Internet Service Provider (ISP), in cooperation with automotive Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
