We are looking for a talented Backend Senior Developer/ Tech Leader who loves working with both people and software. We expect that you, as a leader, are passionate about building an environment where software engineers can achieve their full potential. As an engineer, you have a great understanding of modern development techniques and can be a partner for the team to choose the best solutions. We expect that you can be an advocate of clean code, and clean architecture, TDD (Test Driven Development), pair programming and always welcome feedback. You will be given a lot of autonomy and we want you to use the most of it and drive the team towards technical excellence. We hope you feel learning is a natural part of your workday and you have a high interest in keeping up with current best practices in your areas of expertise.

Your responsibilities

  • Analyze, extract and integrate sports oriented real-time data from a variety of complex sources, showcasing your adaptability to different protocols and technologies
  • Collaborate with architects, tech leaders and engineers to innovate and refine data extraction frameworks, ensuring efficient handling data streams, thus directly impacting the speed and accuracy of data-driven decisions
  • Utilize advanced knowledge in TypeScript/JS, and modern development practices to lead and guide the team in organizing themselves around optimal solutions
  • Be a proponent of clean code and clean architecture

Our requirements

  • Solid backend development experience with Typescrpit and/or Node.JS
  • Understanding of network protocols such as HTTP/HTTPS, including response statuses, headers, request methods, cookies, etc
  • Experience with REST API & WebSockets
  • Experience in designing and working on highly scalable systems
  • Experience with containerization and DevOps (AWS, K8s, Docket)
  • A can-do attitude, take pride in own work and an ability to keep up momentum
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to engage colleagues to thoughtfully work toward a single goal and help the team to adapt and succeed when things do not go exactly as planned

    Optional

  • Experience in building and leading motivated, high performing teams working in an agile environment
  • Experience with libraries and tools for web scraping/crawling, such as Puppeteer, Cheerio, Axios, or similar
  • Experience with Docker and K8s
  • Worked in Agile development teams
