Technical Application Engineer/Editor (f/m)

Your responsibilities

• Comprehensive production of Phoenix Contact product documentation via 3 main communication channels: pdf-based documents (data sheets, package slips, application notes, user manuals etc.), web-based documents (online help, online user manual), and video-based documents (instructional videos)
• Maintaining texts and databases needed to work with document authoring and publishing tools (Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe RoboHelp, Adobe After Effects, and Adobe Premiere)
• Supporting the process of translating texts for our product documentation
• Ordering or preparing illustrations and other visual materials for our product documentation
• Generating and editing multilingual product documentation in line with company guidelines and checklists (suggesting improvements, correcting contextual issues, content organization, or formatting errors)

Our requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
• Excellent command of written and spoken English (minimum C1 level)
• Strong ability to solve problems independently
• Excellent attention to detail
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Willingness to travel to the company HQ in Germany for training sessions

Optional

• 3+ years of experience in preparing and creating technical information
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering, philology, translation studies, or a related field
• Good command of written and spoken German (minimum B2 level)
• Experience in creating and editing product documentation using Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe RoboHelp, or similar software
• Experience in creating instructional videos
