Requirements

Your responsibilities

  • maintaining and improving Azure DevOps repositories, pipelines and automation for platform tooling and self-service capabilities
  • supporting platform users by troubleshooting API configuration issues, resolving incidents and helping teams maximize platform value
  • developing and maintaining external-facing applications such as the Developer Portal and Client Credential Manager
  • contributing to API security and identity topics, including OAuth2, Azure Entra ID, application identities and secure API exposure
  • improving platform quality through automated testing, regression coverage and release validation
  • supporting compliance and audit activities by gathering technical evidence and documenting engineering controls
  • managing change and release activities, coordinating deployments and ensuring quality gates are met
  • collaborating with the Technical Product Manager and translating requirements into scalable technical solutions

Our requirements

  • fluency in English
  • at least 4 years of experience in similar position
  • senior-level experience with .NET / C#, including externally facing applications or developer portals
  • experience working with Azure API Management, API gateways, policies, REST API design and API lifecycle management
  • knowledge of OAuth2, Azure Entra ID, client credential flow, JWT authentication and API security patterns
  • applying secure-by-design principles and addressing OWASP vulnerabilities
  • experience in using Azure DevOps, Git repositories, CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment practices
  • experience in supporting production environments, resolving incidents, troubleshooting issues and driving operational improvements
  • working effectively in regulated environments and supporting compliance, audit and change management processes
  • ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, product, security and customer teams

Optional

  • knowledge of automated testing frameworks and building test coverage for APIs and applications
  • additional Azure cloud services experience
  • using ServiceNow change management processes
  • understanding developer portal design and API onboarding journeys
  • experience in enterprise-scale API platforms within financial services, insurance or other regulated environments

The Technical Architect supports, enhances and operates the Munich Re API Management Platform. The platform enables product teams to publish, secure, manage and consume APIs through standardized self-service tooling.
You will work in a highly technical, hands-on role, ensuring the platform stays stable, secure, compliant, and easy to use while collaborating with product, engineering, security and customer teams.
