Requirements

Your responsibilities

  • Design and build test benches and dynamometers for e-motors, traction inverters and drive units.
  • Select and integrate test bench hardware: load machines, DC power supplies and battery emulators, torque and speed sensors, power analyzers, cooling and thermal conditioning systems.
  • Develop test automation and data acquisition (PLC, LabVIEW, Python), including test sequences, safety interlocks and remote control of test equipment.
  • Build data processing pipelines that turn raw test data into efficiency maps, performance results and reports.
  • Commission, calibrate and maintain test systems, ensuring measurement accuracy, high-voltage safety and compliance with applicable standards.
  • Support the V&V team by translating validation needs into test bench capabilities and by documenting test setups, procedures and configurations.

Our requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in designing, building or commissioning test benches, dynamometers or test systems for electric drives, power electronics or automotive components.
  • Experience with measurement systems: power analyzers, torque and speed sensors, oscilloscopes, data acquisition hardware.
  • Experience with test automation and control software (LabVIEW, Python) and PLC platforms (Siemens, Beckhoff), including electrical cabinet design.
  • Knowledge of high-voltage safety principles in a test environment (interlocks, isolation monitoring, emergency stop).
  • Familiarity with CAN tools and protocols (CANoe, CANalyzer, UDS, ISOTP).
  • Strong technical documentation skills and good English communication skills.

Optional

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Automation or a related engineering field.
  • Experience with HIL systems or EOL test stations.
  • HV qualification or experience working with voltages up to 800 V.
  • Understanding of electric drives (PMSM/induction motors) and inverter operation.
We are looking for a Test Systems & Automation Engineer who enjoys building the environment in which EV powertrains are proven. The ideal candidate is fascinated by how measurement, control and mechanics come together on a test bench, and takes pride in systems that are accurate, safe and repeatable.
This role covers the full lifecycle of a test system: from specifying and designing the bench, through integration of hardware and automation software, to commissioning and continuous improvement. You will work closely with the V&V team and the people who prepare prototypes and run the tests, turning validation needs into reliable test capabilities and clean, usable data. If you enjoy working with e-motors, inverters and high-power measurement, and want to shape how we test the next generation of EV drive systems, this position offers a strong opportunity to make a tangible impact.
