IT Controls Manager

Our requirements

• IT Controls Experience: Proven track record in designing, implementing, and monitoring IT controls (e.g., Data Movement, SDLC, Deployment Management).
• Risk and Compliance Knowledge: Experience with Non-Financial Risk (NFR) frameworks, financial crime systems (e.g., Transaction Monitoring, Sanctions), and regulatory compliance.
• Stakeholder Management: Ability to collaborate with senior IT stakeholders and drive results within resource and time constraints.
• Control Assessments: Experience in conducting control reviews, gap analysis, and remediation support.
• Documentation and Reporting: Strong ability to document control assessments and present complex issues clearly to stakeholders.
• Independent and Proactive: Naturally inquisitive self-starter who can work with limited supervision.
• Communication Skills: Excellent English proficiency (written and verbal), with the ability to articulate complex issues in a clear and concise manner.
• Influencing Skills: Strong ability to influence IT and engineering teams to adopt and adhere to IT controls.
• Analytical Mindset: Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and propose actionable solutions.
• Experience in the IT function of a large financial services organization or in Assurance/Audit roles related to IT controls.
• Familiarity with governance forums, regulatory requirements, and compliance frameworks.

Optional

• IT Service Ownership: Experience as an IT Service Owner or in a similar role is a plus.

Your responsibilities

• Embed and Monitor IT Controls: Implement and oversee controls for Data Movement, Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Deployment Management, and other IT processes within Risk and Compliance IT.
• Understand NFR Requirements: Interpret Non-Financial Risk (NFR) control requirements and operating instructions, and devise plans to roll out and monitor control effectiveness.
• Conduct Control Reviews: Perform periodic assessments of IT controls across Risk and Compliance IT applications, including spot checks, documentation reviews, and data analysis (e.g., Key Control Indicators - KCIs).
• Identify and Remediate Gaps: Collaborate with IT application owners to identify control gaps and support remediation efforts.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with Enterprise Technology, Group Control Owners, CCO Tech, Automation Teams, and Senior Management to ensure alignment and address control issues.
• Reporting and Governance: Represent Risk and Compliance IT in governance forums (e.g., RCMMs) and support the Head of Controls in improving control effectiveness and reporting.
• Promote IT Controls: Act as an ambassador for IT Controls, promoting best practices and methodologies across the organization.
• Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of control methodologies, operating assets, and team processes.
